Once you own a Domain Name, the next challenge in getting your business online is to have the website designed.
What to do..
- Design it yourself
- Do you have the time / knowledge / skills etc required?
- Have a staff member design your website?
- Do THEY have the time / knowledge / skills etc required?
- Have us here at 'Miniwebs' create your site for you?
- The websites we design here at "Miniwebs" are based on a User Login system so that once things are up and running, you will be able to have access rights to login and add/edit/delete your own material. It's not easy to start with but a little training and practice can set you on your way.
Our staff at "Miniwebs" are more than happy to work with you through your learning process so that altering your own website details becomes more easy as time goes on. it's the old story - the more practice you get at anything, the better you will become at it.
One of the key challenges that clients have to overcome is to have their web developer come up with a 'perfect' web design. Unfortunately, this does not easily happen straight away and it's the ongoing work once the site is launched, that help to make the website work so much netter.
There is no need to go for perfection initially to get your site up and running
Don't worry about perfection to begin with. Some people spend so much time (hours, sometimes days) with their website developer getting the small details correct that the website is never completed! An average design to begin with is much better than having no website.
Our goal is to get your site up and running and make changes to suit your requirements along the way.
So don't dwell on the details. Once we advise that your site is ready to launch, the fine details can always be added in later.
Images/graphics
Many websites look great with added images/logos. If you have those already on file - or a business card you would like to base your website around, then we would love to see them! Consistency of colours/tones etc can help to make your website appealing.
What do you 'really' want your website to do?
- Be a source of information only?
- Act as an avenue for people to purchase goods/services?
- Have customers submit information?
When preparing your website, we will need to know what the main reason is for your online presence.
Have a very clear focus.
Your home page is the most important page on your website. It will be the most visited page.
So we want to make sure your most important message gets across on the home page. You don't want to make the visitor hunt for links to source for more information. Think about the phrases/images you want to place on that Home Page.
By now, you may have some idea of what you need, contact us and we'll get your business up and running smoothly and efficiently. But don't forget - the content on the website will only be as good as the material you send us!! (we will try to place your material accordingly though.)
Please contact us if you would like an indication of what it may cost to have a website designed and set up for you. Please be as specific as possible and outline whether you need a domain name as well.
